It was great to have a visit by both Lifeboats from Harwich and to see some familiar faces on board!
The Commodore and his wife with the wine raffle which was a great success!
There were Christmas cards & calendars for sale, pottery, body shop products, honey, jewellery, books, yacht grot (or as some would prefer, pre-loved boating paraphernalia) and lots more and of course delicious homemade cakes, hot dogs and burgers – the early birds were treated to bacon sandwiches!
We raised over £2,500 for the Harwich Lifeboat and there was a record of over £1,000 of Christmas cards and calendars sold. Thank you to everyone who helped or came along on the day.

Prizes and a trophy for the best HPYC member!
Our biggest fundraising event of the year for the Harwich Lifeboat! There will be bacon rolls first thing followed by burgers and hotdogs plus coffee teas and homemade cakes all day. We have some great stalls this year, with some new ones for 2016, selling jewellery, local pottery, honey, body shop products, books and lots more.
Get ahead and buy your RNLI Christmas cards & calendars and help raise money for this great charity. Come along, browse the stalls and have some refreshment in the Harbour Room. There are also some excellent prizes for the prize draw and even a wine raffle.
This is also the open weekend for Suffolk Yacht Harbour and the Clarke and Carter Yacht Fair so the harbour will be buzzing with activity!
“A Taste of the Southern Ocean” Penguins, whales, dolphins, seals, albatross – the wildlife is as amazing as the weather is daunting. Visiting the Falklands, South Georgia, the Antarctic Peninsula and the southern tip of South America was the trip of a lifetime. Following in the footsteps of Shackleton, weathering three Force 11 storms, marvelling at glaciers and icebergs, we discovered why the world’s most remote cruising ground is such a magnet – and why not to go there by yacht!
Please order meals before 7 pm (latest)
No need to book – just come along. The talk starts at 8pm.
